Van Vlanderin
Van Vlanderin was an mfs remodelling project that required a careful balance of renewal, restraint, and contemporary clarity within an existing family home.
The clients came to us with a clear intention: to modernize key living areas, improve the home’s indoor-outdoor flow, and introduce a new first-floor room that felt fully integrated rather than added on. The brief called for warm, light-filled spaces with a cohesive architectural language; spaces that support family life, entertaining, and a stronger connection to the surrounding landscape.
Our design approach focused on simplicity and refinement. By opening sightlines, enhancing natural light, and introducing a calm, contemporary material palette, the main living areas were transformed into generous, grounded, and functional spaces. The outdoor living area was re-envisioned as an architectural extension of the interior, encouraging year-round use and reinforcing the home’s relationship with its garden. The new first-floor room, with its vaulted ceiling and considered detailing, embodies the project’s minimal, softly modern ethos while elevating the character of the entire home.
Van Vlanderin is more than a remodel; it is a revitalization—one that brings cohesion, softness, and contemporary purpose to a beloved family home while strengthening its relationship with the landscape and the way the clients live every day.
